The 7th SSF was held in Skalica, on 14 - 15 October 2011 under the topic:
"The White Book on Defence and the Lessons Learnt from Northern Africa"
One of the core topic of the forum were the events in Northern Africa and the assessment of its contribution and influence on NATO, EU and Slovakia. The operation of NATO in Libya, which was by the Secretary-general of NATO marked as successful, terminated just one week after the SSF was held. In this respect, the international community is undoubtedly taking lessons learnt from its operations in Libya. Next, the forum discussed the role of Slovakia in the region of the Northern Africa, especially in relation to Tunisia where Slovakia in cooperation with the Netherlands took over the presidency over delivering experiences from transformation process. Moreover, there was also running an expert discussion on strategic evaluation of defence that CENAA launched in December 2010. The debate in the third and the fourth panel centred on the strategic evaluation of defence and the achievements of whole-year work of submitting proposals.
